The Script Sheffield

Well what started out as a disaterous day certainly ended in a spectacular fashion... this weekend was all about music... friends and fun but at 10am Friday morning it appeared that none of the above 3 would happen.. my car had decided to throw a little curved ball at me, no window wipers the cost of a new motor for them £240 was shocking enough but not being availble until Tuesday was a nightmare.. should I risk travelling without wipers.. no even I am not that daft so it was over the plan B, rush around and buy train tickets.
Well in the days of it being fashionalbe to slag off rail travel I have to say it saved my weekend as at only marginally more than the cost of traveliing by car I got a ticket to Sheffield and return from Wolvehampton knowing that my mate Katherine would give me lifts on all the inbetween bits... well I hope so or I was stuffed , after a quick train trip it was jump in taxi to the hotel which was pukka and only 3 minutes from venue. As it was only 1pm I thought I would check out if anyone was silly enough to queue.... yes of course they were but only a couple of young girls andf it was truly freezing so after a couple of hours decided to retreat to hotel for a while to wait for Katherine... at this point I wished I had put in my contacts as I walked straight past Gary Go and did not speak... thought that guy looks like Gary.. there was a good reason for that it was lol... sorry Gary.
After an hour or so at the hotel Katherine was very anxious to get back to the q, if it had been Dan & The boys I would have been having hissy fits hours ago wanting to get back so I obliged wrapped up as warm as possible and set off... talking of warm could someone please explain why some young girls feel the need to q in tiny little sleevelss dresses... no jumper... not coat no vests lol....excuse me pointing out but Danny is not going to look down into the crowd and say ... I have just gotta take one of those lovey blue frozen girls home with me... its never gonna happen girls so next time wrap up warm when its -5.
Doors opened at 6.30 so not too long a wait and the first act Will & the family or was it friends, hell for some reason I just cannot remember their name but they were infact a cracking support act came on... really enjoyed them in a quirky way and they are I expect a band to look out for, then it was Gary... sorry for not saying hi earlier... now how ever hard I try I just cannot get into this band.. they are really good a great singer but just do not do it for me... and all along I kept thingking TF were coming on next having seen him support them !!
Right on to The Script... this was a far more polished and confident band than I saw at the end of last year... still a shortish set as they only have one album but plenty of
banter.. for some reason when people from Ireland say " what the fuck " or that would be "What the fook " it never seems like swearing lol..it was a great set.. nothing unexpected but the audience went wild for these very likable guys from Dublin. As expected now it was the manditory wait to say hi after the show... on a cold night this was not the best of prospects... bless their management though we were all taken back inside to get to see them... it was ordily q time again and all the 12 - 15 year old wanted to make sure they were at the front ... silly... always be last as you are gonna get time to have a proper chat lol...so it was time for photo and chat... sweet they remembered us from last year
and great that they actually valued our opion as to whether they had improved the set as a lot of work had gone into it... well you know me I just said " yes a lot better but then you were crap back in November " lol luckily they saw the funny side of that as they are a brilliant band. So after telling them we will see them Sun/Weds ..and thanks guys now Friday on the last UK date in London it was back to the hotel... hyper... happy and the 3rd H ... hyperthermic.... so on to tonight and a party time with the gang :-)
