Will and The People The Water Rats

Some artists seem to make you want to bust into song but with myself most make me want to burst into print none more so than the spectacular Will and The People, I cannot figure it out but these guys are just so damn addictive that as soon as you have consumed one musical experience you just cannot wait until you next fix. Last night we dragged ourselves down to The Water Rats to once again catch them in action... we have now calculated that we are clocking up loads of Will Miles and hopefully soon will get our free flight in the Rendle starship heading for that galaxy called megastar land.
Once again the guys did not disappoint in any way shape or form, a very , dare I say it dapper Mr Rendle treated the crowd to a musical experience that only he and the guys can deliver, I did not realise that music could actually be that much fun with no moments of pathos about lost love etc you are left with the impression that these guys could make even the most heart rendering of experiences into a fun catchy tune, and this is how it should be life is to short to be miserable although whether you can believe Mr Rendle when he says he has not a care in the world is doubtful... to the untrained eye maybe, but that glint of detirmination and ambition was there to see if you looked past the cheeky chappy grin.
A short snappy polished set with everyone at the top of their game.. except maybe Mr Rendles guitar strings.. we have now clubbed together and a new set along with a guitar tec is on the way
but no amount of guitar tuning, playing with only 4 strings could detract from this show... if London and the rest of the UK needed anymore proof that these guys are stars in the making this gig was it... and a big round of applause for the young man who stepped in at the very last minute to take up the post of drummer in Simons short absence, we can only say you came out of that starting gate a winner and stayed there all night insomuch as anyone catching the band for the first time would have no idea you had not been with them for years.
All in all a great night but maybe a sad one as well as the days are surely numbered as to be able to catch these guys in such an intimate venue I feel the arenas calling.
