Will and The People

Seldom has a live band bought so much fun and excitement to the stage as the fast emerging band of 2009 Will and The People, it was with some scepticism that I approached them during there support tour with The Script, I had no knowledge of them prior to this and sometimes that is a good thing as you are starting with a blank canvas and do not have preconceived ideas of what to expect.

My initial reaction when they came on stage was interesting look but have they got anything to back it up with, after only a few minutes it was blatantly obvious that these were one of the finest new talents I had seen in years, their style was fresh and innovative and the talent just oozed out of their every pore, here were 5 people that at first appearance looked to be a total mismatch but this was maybe the charm and the effortless rakish look had obviously been very well thought out and planned, but none of this is of any consequence if the talent is not there to back it up, musically excellent but this is the case with many bands who never quite make the grade but what they had which must truly shoot them way up into the stratosphere of stardom is a style of music unique and more importantly fun… who wants to have a night out and come home depressed after listening to hours of heart wrenching ballads, well with Will and his very fine people this will never happen… he will have you dancing in the aisles singing away and once those songs get in your head they are there for life because try as you may you will end up singing along, and way ahead in weeks to come those songs are going to be there playing in your head round and round in a continuous loop.

With front man Will you have the complete package to suit everyone, the young girls will just love him as the ugly stick has not been within a mile of him, and his fun approach is really endearing, but being a fun person should never be mistaken as a light hearted approach to your calling, for a person of such young age the drive and determination to succeed has been there for many years and the fact that his has the naughty boy image should not detract from his obvious ambition as image after all is purely that 90% of the time. However without his people where would Will be, well in all honesty he would probably still be on his way to stardom but the people in Will and The People are all important as they complete what the band is all about, musically interesting and giving an image that is in complete harmony with their sound.

Before the end of 2009 I am sure this band will have taken its rightful place at the top of the industry with a very happy expanding fan base
