The Feeling Covent Garden

Well this is a review I did not expect to be writing............ this time last week I was penning what I though was my last gig review for a while and thinking it was going to be a bit of a musical drought and then up pops this little gem... I am a big fan of the intimate flakey little gigs that are a bit outside the norm...the big stage managed productions kind of leave me cold as they seem to miss that fun element. After getting my lovely boss to give me a last minute holiday ( I knew getting him that signed photo of The Script for his girlfriend was an astute move on my part) it was then buy my train ticket, this from the person who was not going to spend any more money on gigs this year, and head off way to early to suss out the lay of the land and find out where this was actually gonna happen, after watching some string quartet play in the courtyard I knew this was goning to be the prime spot.. when they had departed and guys started moving in some pretty pro music gear I thought I had better make enquiries from the crew... an innocent question as to what sort of genre of music he was setting up for bought the response " some band called The Feeling " ha ha he must have thought my little jig around the courtyard denoted that I was a nutter ( well who am I to argue with that one).. I then proceeeded to line up chairs in a row at the front and therefore confirmed my status as a loon...... at around 5pm Di arrived swiftly followed by Ann, Becky and then Alex... was great to meet up with you all again or for the first time and nice that we had a small but vocal front row of familiar faces for the guys but sad that some of the gang could not make it.It was a short but sweet set, listed elsewhere by Alex as I am a dunce at that, ~I only know how to ramble not list...was glad the guys got their wine... although come on guys its polite to share... all to soon it was over ..but as it was just one of those great bonus nights you get in life I was not too sad... thanks Dan for taking the cards... sorry a bit random to have a xmas card sent you with your own photo on lol but they had arrived in the post that morning and just really wanted to say thanks for a great tour ... one of the things that really impressed me was you guys did not use this as an opportunity to plug your new single... this was all about Crisis and the cynic in me really admired that... would have been nice to hear it though... so then it was everyone off on their separate ways... me to do 4 circuits of Covent Garden before I found the Tube and then back to to wilds of Lincolnshire... apologies to the partons of Kings Cross....... I just like singing along to my ipod and sometimes foget I am doing it. So thats me signed off for 2008................. or is it............. oh and did I mention.............. you guys are just the best
